What we are, and what we are not
Published because partners and students deserve to know the limits of what we can do before they rely on us, not after.
What NWIEP is not
- Not an awarding organisationWe award no qualification of any kind. Where students take UK-regulated qualifications, these are awarded by the awarding organisation and delivered by an approved centre.
- Not a regulator or an accrediting bodyWe accredit nothing and approve no institution. Approval rests with the relevant national authority.
- Not an immigration adviserWe provide education information, not immigration advice. We do not advise any individual on which visa to apply for or whether they qualify. Where a question is an immigration question, we refer it to a regulated adviser.
- Not a guarantor of outcomesWe do not guarantee employment, professional registration, admission to any institution, or any visa outcome. Those decisions belong to employers, regulators, institutions and governments.
- Not an academic authorityIn every institutional partnership, the institution retains full control of admission, assessment, progression and certification.
How we describe our work
Every claim we publish is approved by a named person against a written wording list before release. We do not describe a programme as accredited, approved or recognised unless it is, and we do not describe preparation for an examination as a qualification.
Where a student completes an employer-designed virtual simulation, it is recorded as a simulation. Where a student completes a supervised placement, it is recorded as a placement. The two are not interchangeable.
Data protection and safeguarding
Student records
Processed under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and, where applicable, United Kingdom data protection law. The institution is the controller; NWIEP processes records on its instructions under a written agreement. Students may export their own portfolio at any time.
Students on placement
No student is placed with an employer that has not been vetted under the agreed procedure. Named safeguarding contacts are agreed on both sides before any placement begins, and concerns are reported immediately rather than investigated by the student.
